The application relates to a defibrillator for implantation into a body of a living being and for controlling a cardiac activity of the heart of the living being, including: an electrode section, which is arranged as intended during implantation of the defibrillator such that a current surge/shock (ST) delivered via the electrode section controls the cardiac activity; switching electronics connected to the electrode section, which are configured to control the defibrillator and to trigger delivery of the current pulse (ST); at least one electrical energy storage device which supplies a voltage for long-term power supply, wherein the switching electronics are configured to generate, from the supplied voltage, a surge/shock voltage by means of which the electric current surge/shock for controlling the cardiac activity is delivered, by multiplying and/or reducing the supplied voltage for generating the surge/shock voltage; and an energy receiving section connected to the switching electronics, which is configured to receive energy in a contactless manner and to deliver the energy to the energy storage device for recharging the energy storage device, wherein the energy receiving section includes at least one coil which is configured to receive the energy and to deliver it to the energy storage device via a rectifier when permeated by a magnetic alternating field generated by an external charger.
