A novel and useful wearable drug delivery device and related methods to provide protective medical technologies for use in hazardous environments and to administer therapeutic agents in response to exposure to toxic substances, including chemical warfare agents. The system includes a wearable device that delivers medications to the warfighter on the battlefield. The device is part of a networked, wearable countermeasure platform that integrates directly with the Nett Warrior network to deliver medical countermeasures (MCMs) such as nalmefene and atropine/ipralidoxime chloride in a single ruggedized device. The system delivers the appropriate antidote for nerve agent or opioid aerosol exposure. The system interacts with the warrior so that drug is only delivered when required without the need for self or rescuer administration. It communicates with the Nett Warrior system to provide network-aware capability. The system delivers multiple drugs on the battlefield and is not limited to only one or two.
