Abstract
The present disclosure describes a medical system (600) for supporting native kidney function, preferably native urine processing, of a patient's kidney by, for example, administrating artificial primary urine to the cortex, which comprises a fluid source (602) for providing fluid to be injected into the patient's kidney, a fluid outlet (616) in fluid connection with the fluid source for transferring the fluid (608) to a renal cortex of the patient's kidney, and a control unit (620) that receives physiological condition information (622) indicative of a physiological condition of the patient and that is configured to control a flow through the fluid outlet (616) using the physiological condition information (622).
Claims26
A medical system for supporting native kidney function of a kidney of a patient, comprising:
- a fluid source for providing fluid to be injected into the kidney of the patient;
- a fluid outlet in fluid connection with the fluid source for transferring the fluid to a renal cortex of the kidney of the patient;
- and
- a control unit that receives physiological condition information indicative of a physiological condition of the patient and that is configured to control a flow through the fluid outlet using the physiological condition information.
A method for supporting native kidney function, the method comprising:
- receiving a fluid from a fluid source and
- injecting the fluid into a renal cortex of a kidney of a patient.
