Abstract
Disclosed herein is a nanocomposite particle comprising a polymer, a cleavable entity conjugated to the polymer, a magnetic nanoparticle, and a therapeutically effective amount of an active agent, and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the nanocomposite particle. MPI with the disclosed nanocomposite particles also allows for real-time quantitative monitoring of the rate of release of the active agent loaded onto the nanocomposite particle anywhere in the body and at any depth. The nanocomposite particle is also useful for the treatment of cancer.
