Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method for preventing or reducing bone fractures in an overweight subject. The method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an osteoanabolic agent.

A method of reducing the incidence of bone fractures in a subject having a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 25, wherein the subject is losing weight at a rate of at least 1 kg/month, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an osteoanabolic agent.
A method of reducing the incidence of bone fractures in a subject after the subject has undergone bariatric surgery comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an osteoanabolic agent.
