Abstract
The present invention provides a fat composition comprising a) at least 0.7 wt % tributyrin; b) 25-60 wt % fats, e.g., vegetable and/or animal fats; c) 18-75 wt % protein, e.g., milk protein and optionally vegetable protein; and d) optionally, carbohydrates such as lactose, as well as the use thereof in a composition for feeding young farming mammals, in particular to improve their performance and gastrointestinal development.

A composition comprising:
- a) at least 0.7 wt % tributyrin;
- b) 25-60 wt % fats;
- c) 18-75 wt % protein;
- and
- d) optionally, carbohydrates.

- i) 15-35 wt %, based on dry matter content, fats;
- ii) 18-28 wt %, based on dry matter content, protein;
- iii) 30-55 wt %, based on dry matter content, sugars;
- wherein the composition comprises at least 0.7 wt %, based on dry matter content, tributyrin.
