Abstract
The present invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for the transdermal administration of cytisine comprising a self-adhesive layer structure containing a therapeutically effective amount of cytisine, such cytisine TTS for use in a method of treatment as well as processes for manufacturing such cytisine TTS.

A transdermal therapeutic system for transdermal administration of cytisine comprising a self-adhesive layer structure containing a therapeutically effective amount of cytisine, said self-adhesive layer structure comprising:
- a backing layer;
- and
- a cytisine-containing layer comprising:
- cytisine;
- a polymer selected from silicone-based polymers and polyisobutylenes;
- and
- a permeation enhancer comprising an organic compound having a linear backbone having from 6 to 14 carbon atoms and 1 hydroxy group.
