A rotary apparatus for sealing a continuous web and related method, preferably for producing absorbent articles or containment bags of liquid or solid products, includes a first member rotating according to a first direction, one or more first support elements of the continuous web supported by the first rotary member and at least one first sealing unit of the continuous web supported by the first rotary member. The rotary apparatus further includes a second member rotating according to a second direction, one or more second support elements of the continuous web supported by the second rotary member and at least one second sealing unit of the continuous web supported by the second rotary member. The first sealing unit is configured to produce at least one first seal on the continuous web and the second sealing unit is configured to produce at least one second seal on the continuous web.
