Heat transfer unit, apparatus and associated method

Abstract

A heat transfer unit adapted to be applied to a human face in order to transfer heat to/from the human face comprises a first flexible material layer and a second flexible material layer defining a fluid chamber therebetween, allowing a heat transfer fluid to flow through the fluid chamber. The first and second flexible material layers are connected to one another at a plurality of connection locations. The heat transfer unit is dimensioned such that, when applied to a human face, it can cover at least 70% of the surface of the human face. The heat transfer unit can be used to heat or cool a human face, in particular in a thermal therapy treatment of a human face, and in particular in the treatment of tissue damage after surgical interventions, injuries or inflammations.
