An indirectly attached, mobile (regarding the movement of a user—to which the device is indirectly attached—as being free from a fixed location) worn device useful in the tensioning of a body to be tensioned, without atrophy from prolonged use, without needing (ceterus parabus) surgical intervention to use the device, without constricting blood flow to a debilitating level, and without the need of weights (i.e., historically used traction systems), comprising;
- (a.) a light-weight, rigid, panel planar base on an axial plane of the body to be tensioned (i.e., a “base level”), which laterally lies (partially or totally) over the circumference of a body to be tensioned;
- wherein, regarding a minimum core structure of two diametrically opposed planar bases for a minimum functioning of the device,
- (i.) there is a minimum of two diametrically opposed planar bases such that at least the longitudinal ends (ends which are longitudinally furthest from the center of an area to be tensioned) of the minimum, requisite two planar bases are on their own distinct base level (i.e., for the minimum structural requisite of two planar bases, one end of one of the planar bases on the distal side of a body to be tensioned and one end of the other of the planar bases on the proximal side of a body to be tensioned;
- or one end of one of the planar bases on the inferior side of a body to be tensioned and one end of the other of the planar bases on the superior side of a body to be tensioned--terminology dependent on the location being tensioned, and the location of the other opposing planar base),
- (ii.) a minimum of two diametrically opposed planar bases are, when the device is used, simultaneously put under pressure to move apart, which pushes parts of a body to be tensioned apart through the contact of the planar bases with the body to be tensioned;
- (b.) connecting two or more planar bases, a linear-pressure inducing apparatus or linear-pressure inducing apparatus assembly (manual, semi-automated or automated), driven by any force, exempli gratia (e.g. non-exhaustive list of examples);
- (i.) Screw-based linear actuator assembly, e.g.,
- (A.) a ball screw assembly,
- (B.) a worm gear based assembly (e.g., most simplistically rods attached by pivot joints to the pinion of a simple worm gear actuator, wherein the rods extend from the center of the pinion when the pinon is rotated 90 degrees);
- (ii.) tooth and groove linear actuator assembly, e.g.,
- (A.) a rack and pinion based apparatus used with a crank and a stopper (e.g., spring loaded plungers, tie-down strap, ratchet and pawl, and indexing pins),
- (B.) a ratchet and pawl based apparatus coupled with a pinion and rack apparatus;
- (iii.) telescoping linear actuator assembly e.g.,
- (A.) chain driven linear actuator,
- (B.) Segmented Spindle actuator;
- (iv.) cam and crank assembly (e.g., a modified Cr émone bolt with an indexed stopper);
- (c.) a pressure ameliorating structure such as a pressure ameliorating change to a planar base's shape, change in a planar base's conformity to the body, a pressure ameliorating attachment, a combination of these or other such structures, e.g.;
- (i.) planar base curvatures conforming to the contours of a body to be tensioned, over which the modified planar base lies,
- (ii.) planar base large curvatures or folds (optionally spreading out from point of conformity) at some of the edges furthest from the center of that being tensioned and/or areas where the planar bases would push into large protrusions of a body to be tensioned or a prosthetic,
- (A.) Wherein the curves or folds roll or fold away from the body to be tensioned, e.g., sharply change direction, suddenly round-off in a roll, or taper off in a roll (flange out) (potentially also extending along these areas enough to divert pin-point pressure to the degree necessary as increasing pressure is applied),
- (iii.) gel padding,
- (iv.) moving the points of contact of a pressure inducing apparatus and/or adding extensions onto a planar base away from the base level (to shift the center of tensioning pressure),
- (v.) moldings the planar bases to body to be tensioned contours away from the site of tensioning pressure's most extreme engagements with the body to be tensioned,
- (vi.) toggled pressure ameliorating base adaptations attached (directly or indirectly) to non-tensioning target-zone areas of a body to be tensioned,
- (vii.) a body-to-be-tensioned-protrusion conforming and pressure diverting structure attached to a flat planar base one of its ends,
- (viii.) a planar base composite structured like a hammock, wherein an elastic band connects the longer edges of two rectangular planar bases, distributing pressure received over a large area (e.g., used at an arm pit, wherein the mesh is inside an arm pit and the planar bases are at the superior and anterior of the shoulder, lying over the arm and torso).
