Transapical removal device

A device for removing a target implant, the device comprising:

• an elongate delivery catheter having a distal end portion;
• a first tool deployable from the distal end portion of the delivery catheter, the first tool comprising opposing hooks biased toward an open state when advanced distally from the distal end portion, wherein proximal retraction of the first tool relative to the distal end portion forces the opposing hooks toward a closed state, the first tool operable to grasp the target implant and manipulate the target implant from an implanted condition having an implanted width to an elongated condition having an elongated width that is less than the implanted width;
• and
• a second tool comprising a sheath defining a sheath lumen disposed over the delivery catheter, the sheath being extendable relative to the distal end portion of the delivery catheter to at least partially surround the target implant in the elongated condition, wherein a distal end of the sheath comprises a tissue separation element operable to separate the target implant from adjacent tissue as the sheath is extended.
