Abstract
Some embodiments are directed to a method enabling surgical planning using a 3D model. A visibility specification may be determined for displaying the 3D model, the visibility specification comprising a rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures in the 3D model, wherein the rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures may be determined from the anatomic structure of interest and the zoom level.
Claims20
A method enabling surgical planning using a 3D model, the method comprising:
- obtaining one or more medical images, identifying multiple anatomic structures in the medical images and generating a 3D model comprising multiple segmented anatomic structures therefrom,
- obtaining surgical planning information comprising at least an anatomic structure of interest,
- obtaining a zoom level for the 3D model,
- determining a visibility specification for displaying the 3D model, the visibility specification being determined from at least the zoom level and the anatomical structure of interest, the visibility specification indicating a level of visibility in a rendering of the multiple segmented anatomic structures in the 3D model and comprising a rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures in the 3D model, wherein the rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures is determined from the anatomic structure of interest and the zoom level, and
- displaying the 3D model in a 3D view according to the visibility specification, the method comprising switching from a first visibility specification to a second visibility specification due to a new zoom level or a new anatomical structure of interest and updating the displaying of the 3D model according to the second visibility specification.
A system comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- obtain one or more medical images, identifying multiple anatomic structures in the medical images and generating a 3D model comprising multiple segmented anatomic structures therefrom,
- obtain surgical planning information comprising at least an anatomic structure of interest,
- obtain a zoom level for the 3D model,
- determine a visibility specification for displaying the 3D model, the visibility specification being determined from at least the zoom level and the anatomical structure of interest, the visibility specification indicating a level of visibility in a rendering of the multiple segmented anatomic structures in the 3D model and comprising a rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures in the 3D model, wherein the rendering mode for the multiple segmented anatomic structures is determined from the anatomic structure of interest and the zoom level, and
- display the 3D model in a 3D view according to the visibility specification, the method comprising switching from a first visibility specification to a second visibility specification due to a new zoom level or a new anatomical structure of interest and updating the displaying of the 3D model according to the second visibility specification.
A transitory or non-transitory computer readable medium having stored instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
