Abstract
A method of operating a surgical system includes providing, by a controller, a planned cut to be performed by a surgical tool, defining, by the controller, an entry boundary relative to the planned cut, and operating a surgical robot such that the surgical tool passes through the entry boundary in order to enter the planned cut.
Claims20
A surgical system, comprising:
- a robotic arm;
- a surgical tool coupled to the robotic arm;
- and
- a controller coupled to the surgical robot and programmed to:
- provide a planned cut to be performed by the surgical tool;
- define an entry boundary relative to the planned cut;
- require, by controlling the surgical robot, the surgical tool to pass through the entry boundary to enter the planned cut.

A method of operating a surgical system comprising a robotic arm and a surgical tool coupled to the robotic arm, comprising:
- providing, by a controller, a planned cut to be performed by the surgical tool;
- defining, by the controller, an entry boundary relative to the planned cut;
- and
- operating the surgical robot such that the surgical tool passes through the entry boundary in order to enter the planned cut.
