An X-ray imaging apparatus includes an X-ray irradiation unit that irradiates X-rays, an X-ray detection unit that detects the X-rays irradiated by the X-ray irradiation unit, a control unit 6 that sequentially generates a plurality of X-ray images based on detection signals output from the X-ray detection unit, a storage unit that stores the sequentially generated plurality of X-ray images, and a display unit 4a that displays at least one of the plurality of X-ray images. The control unit performs control to calculate a degree of blur of a target object included in the X-ray image acquired from the storage unit, and control to display, on the display unit as a still image, an X-ray image among the plurality of X-ray images in which the calculated degree of blur of the target object satisfies a predetermined condition, after termination of X-ray irradiation.
