Abstract

A medical device including a shaft defining at least one lumen, an articulation member extending through the at least one lumen, and a distal tip coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The distal tip includes a distal cap and a steering ring. The distal cap may have a distal portion and a proximal portion. The proximal portion includes a proximal extension. The steering ring at least partially surrounds the proximal extending of o the distal cap. The proximal extension of the distal cap defines a plurality of grooves. Each groove of the plurality of grooves is configured to receive a distal end of the articulation member. The plurality of grooves is defined along a radially outer surface of the proximal extension.

Dependent claims

A medical device, comprising:

a shaft defining at least one lumen;
an articulation member extending through the at least one lumen;
and
a distal tip coupled to a distal end of the shaft, the distal tip comprising:
a distal cap having a distal portion and a proximal portion, wherein the proximal portion includes a proximal extension;
and
a steering ring at least partially surrounding the proximal extension of the distal cap;
wherein the proximal extension of the distal cap defines a plurality of grooves each configured to receive a distal end of the articulation member, wherein the plurality of grooves is defined along a radially outer surface of the proximal extension.
