Abstract
A dishwasher is configured to perform a drying cycle in a state in which a moisture-absorption drying device is operated in a state in which a door is opened, such that a portion of water vapor present in a tub is discharged to the outside, while the remaining portion of the water vapor is absorbed by the moisture-absorption drying device, thereby completing the drying cycle within a minimized time duration and with only a small amount of moisture absorbent.

A dishwasher comprising:
- a tub having a washing space defined therein and constructed to accommodate therein dishes;
- a door configured to open and close the washing space;
- a moisture-absorption drying device configured to absorb moisture from air discharged from the tub and to supply the moisture-removed air to the tub;
- and
- a controller configured to determine whether to operate the moisture-absorption drying device during a drying cycle for drying the dishes,
- wherein the controller is configured to operate the moisture-absorption drying device in a state in which the door has been moved to a partially-open position to partially open the tub while the drying cycle is being performed, thereby drying the dishes.
