Abstract
A dishwasher is configured to activate and deactivate a drying function performed using a moisture-absorption drying device. The dishwasher includes a controller configured to activate or deactivate the drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption drying device based on an option selection signal. Thus, various needs of users may be satisfied.
Claims20
A dishwasher comprising:
- a tub having a washing space defined therein and constructed to accommodate therein dishes;
- a door driving device configured to drive a door to open or close the washing space;
- a washing water management device including a washing water heater and configured to heat washing water and supply the washing water to the tub;
- a moisture-absorption drying device including a regeneration heater and a fan motor, and configured to absorb moisture from air discharged from the tub and supply the moisture-removed air to the tub;
- and
- a controller configured to activate or deactivate a drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption and drying device based on a first option selection signal.
3 more elements
A method for controlling a dishwasher, the method comprising:
- checking whether a drying cycle performed using a moisture-absorption drying device is activated and whether an enhanced drying option is activated;
- in response to that the drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption drying device is activated and the enhanced drying option is deactivated, performing a washing cycle and a rinsing cycle, then, performing a moisture-absorption cycle of the drying cycle, then, partially opening a door, and then, performing an air-discharge cycle of the drying cycle;
- and
- in response to that the drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption drying device is deactivated, heating air to a temperature lower than a temperature to which air is heated when the drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption drying device is activated, and then, performing a washing cycle, and then heating washing water to a temperature higher than a temperature to which the washing water is heated when the drying cycle performed using the moisture-absorption drying device is activated, and then performing a rinsing cycle with the higher temperature washing water, and then opening the door.
