Abstract
A dishwasher is capable of improving drying performance of a drying-only course. When performing the drying-only course, the dishwasher partially opens a door, and drives at least one of a regeneration heater or a fan motor to perform at least one of a regeneration cycle or a drying cycle based on whether the drying-only course has been performed in a previous cycle, thereby improving drying performance of the drying-only course.

- and
- a controller configured to partially open the door when a drying-only course is performed,
- wherein when the drying-only course is performed, the controller is configured to drive at least one of the regeneration heater or the fan motor to perform at least one of a regeneration cycle or a drying cycle, based on whether the drying-only course has been performed in a previous cycle.

A method for controlling a dishwasher, the method comprising:
- receiving a drying-only course selection and start signal from a control panel;
- driving a door driving device to partially open a door of the dishwasher;
- checking whether a drying-only course has been performed in a previous cycle;
- and
