Abstract
Cooking devices, cooking systems, and smoke assemblies for use therewith are provided. In one embodiment, a cooking system is provided and includes a housing and a smoke assembly. The housing can have a lower base portion and an upper lid portion that together define a hollow cooking chamber. The smoke assembly can be coupled to the upper lid portion, and can be in fluid communication with the hollow cooking chamber. The smoke assembly can generate smoke during cooking operations in order to impart smoke flavor onto a food product disposed within the hollow cooking chamber.
Claims20
A cooking device, comprising:
- a housing defining an internal cooking chamber, the housing including a lid movable coupled to a base;
- at least one heating element disposed in the housing, and configured to heat food disposed within the internal cooking chamber;
- a fan disposed on an underside of the lid and configured to circulate air within the internal cooking chamber during at least one cooking operation;
- a smoke unit in operable communication with the internal cooking chamber, the smoke unit being configured to receive fuel and configured to ignite received fuel to generate smoke to flavor food disposed within the internal cooking chamber;
- a temperature probe insertable within food to measure an internal temperature thereof;
- and
- a user interface operably connected to the at least one heating element and the fan, the user interface including a plurality of inputs associated with a plurality of cooking modes in which the at least one heating element and/or the fan are active.
A cooking device, comprising:
- a housing including a base and a lid hinged to the base and movable between an open position and a closed position, the base and the lid defining an internal cooking chamber, wherein the housing comprises:
- a fan operably coupled to an underside of the lid and configured to circulate air within the internal cooking chamber during cooking operations,
- a first heat source disposed proximate the fan and configured to heat air within the internal cooking chamber during cooking operations
- a cooking surface disposed within the internal cooking chamber and defining a plurality of ridges thereon and at least one grease drain located in a rear portion thereof to drain grease away from the cooking surface,
- a second heat source disposed beneath the cooking surface and configured to heat the cooking surface during cooking operations,
- a baffle disposed on an internal surface of a sidewall of the lid and extending into the internal cooking chamber, the baffle defining a flow path,
- at least one exhaust disposed on a rear of the lid on a wall adjacent the at least one exhaust configured to vent the internal cooking chamber;
- a smoke unit operably coupled to the housing and configured to generate smoke to flavor food located within the internal cooking chamber, the smoke unit comprising a fuel chamber configured to receive solid fuel during combustion thereof, the fuel chamber being below and in fluid communication with the baffle when the lid is in a closed position such that smoke generated by the smoke unit is configured to flow upward to exit the fuel chamber and flow into the internal cooking chamber via the flow path at least partially defined by the baffle;
- a user interface disposed on a front side of the base, the user interface comprising a plurality of inputs including an on-demand smoke button configured to, upon actuation, cause the smoke unit to generate smoke using fuel disposed therein regardless of any other ongoing cooking operation, at least one input configured to, upon actuation, select from a plurality of cooking operations including a grilling operation, an air frying operation, a baking operation, and a dehydrating operation;
- and a temperature probe configured to operably couple with the housing and to monitor a current temperature of a food product disposed within the internal cooking chamber.
