Abstract

A foldable lap tray having a platform area for carrying personal items on a lap of a user is provided. The lap tray can include a base portion forming the platform area, a back rail projecting upward from the base portion, and a stand portion articulable along a distal edge of the base portion. In a deployed configuration, the platform area can be unfolded along a base portion crease and the stand portion can be positioned underneath the base portion. In a folded configuration, the base portion can be folded along the base portion crease toward the back rail, the stand portion can be folded along the distal edge of the base portion and along stand portion creases such that the stand portion extends from the distal edge of the base portion, around the back rail, and to the base portion crease, at least partially enclosing the back rail therein.

Dependent claims

A foldable lap tray, comprising:

a base portion forming a platform area, the base portion having a base portion crease;
a back rail projecting upward from a distal edge of the base portion;
and
a stand portion coupled to and articulable along the distal edge of the base portion, the stand portion having a first stand portion crease and a second stand portion crease spaced apart from and parallel to the first stand portion crease,
wherein, in a deployed configuration of the foldable lap tray, the platform area is unfolded along the base portion crease and the stand portion is positioned underneath the base portion, and
wherein, in a folded configuration of the foldable lap tray, the base portion is folded along the base portion crease toward the back rail, the stand portion is folded along the distal edge of the base portion and along the first and second stand portion creases such that the stand portion extends from the distal edge of the base portion, around the back rail, and to the base portion crease, at least partially enclosing the back rail therein.
