A glider seating unit is provided. The glider seating unit includes a base frame with a pair of armrests and a seating unit movably supported by the base frame between the pair of armrests. The base frame is configured to support the glider seating unit on a support surface and the seating unit is operatively connected to the base frame with a glide assembly that permits the seating unit to glide in a forward direction and in a backward direction relative to the base frame. The glide assembly includes at least one glide bracket rigidly attached to the seating unit and at least one swing link that extends between a first end and an opposite second end. The first end of the at least one swing link is movably attached to the at least one glide bracket and the second end of the at least one swing link is movably attached to the base frame such that the glide bracket is movable relative to the base frame.
