Back of Hand Mounting System

A system comprising:

• a scanner configured to capture at least one of image data and barcode data, the scanner having an optical axis and comprising protrusions extending from a surface of the scanner;
• and
• a hand strap coupled to the scanner, the hand strap comprising:
• a body configured to rest on a back of a hand of a user;
• an attachment clip affixed to the body, the attachment clip defining a longitudinal axis;
• two or more alignment apertures defined in the attachment clip, the alignment apertures configured to receive the protrusions on the scanner;
• a latch assembly configured to releasably secure the scanner, wherein the protrusions are retained within the alignment apertures when the scanner is secured to the attachment clip, wherein the attachment clip includes the latch assembly;
• a wrist wing extending from a proximal end of the body, the wrist wing configured to engage with a wrist of the user;
• and
• an index-finger section extending from a distal end of the body, the index-finger section configured to position a trigger button adjacent to a side of an index finger of the user for actuation by a thumb of the user.
