Abstract
Various implementations include hearing assist devices and systems for processing audio signals. In particular implementations, a process includes: receiving an input signal via a microphone from a noisy environment; performing a volume adjustment to the input signal; and applying hearing assist device signal processing to the volume adjusted input signal, such that the hearing assist device signal processing is applied as though the input signal was received in a quieter environment.
Claims20
A method for processing signals in a hearing assistance device, the method comprising:
- receiving an input signal via a microphone from a noisy environment;
- performing a volume adjustment to the input signal;
- and applying hearing assist device signal processing to the volume adjusted input signal, such that the hearing assist device signal processing is applied as though the input signal was received in a quieter environment.
A hearing assistance device, comprising:
- at least one microphone;
- at least one electrodynamic transducer;
- and a processor coupled with the at least one microphone and the at least one electrodynamic transducer, the processor configured to:
- receive an input signal via a microphone from a noisy environment;
- perform a volume adjustment to the input signal;
- and apply hearing assist device signal processing to the volume adjusted input signal, such that the hearing assist device signal processing is applied as though the input signal was received in a quieter environment.
