Handling high definition map data messages

A vehicle processing system, comprising:

• a processor configured with processor-executable instructions to:
• receive in a first memory queue of the processing system via a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) a plurality of HD map data messages each comprising sequence information;
• store a selected one of the HD map data messages in a second memory queue in response to determining that the sequence information of the selected HD map data message is greater than an expected sequence information;
• and
• process the HD map data message stored in the second memory queue in response to the sequence information of the HD map data message stored in the second memory queue matching the expected sequence information.

A vehicle processing system, comprising:

• means for receiving in a first memory queue of the processing system via a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) a plurality of HD map data messages each comprising sequence information;
• means for storing a selected one of the HD map data messages in a second memory queue in response to determining that the sequence information of the selected HD map data message is greater than an expected sequence information;
• and
• means for processing the HD map data message stored in the second memory queue in response to the sequence information of the HD map data message stored in the second memory queue matching the expected sequence information.
