A source routing information dissemination solution for wireless mesh networks

A communication device for a wireless mesh network, the communication device comprises:

• a controller, and
• a radio communicator for operating as a radio node device,
• wherein the communication device is configured to:
• communicate, by the radio communicator, source routing information to at least one second communication device being an associated member of the communication device for disseminating at least one functionality of a hop-limited downlink source routing, wherein the source routing information comprises source routing control information and a source routing identifier indicating latest hop router device participating in the hop-limited downlink source routing.

A communication device for a wireless mesh network, the communication device comprises:

• a controller, and
• a radio communicator for operating as a radio node device,
• wherein the communication device is configured to:
• receive, by the radio communicator, source routing information from a first communication device, whose associated member the communication device is, wherein the source routing information comprises source routing control information and a source routing identifier indicating latest hop router device participating in the hop-limited downlink source routing;
• and
• decide, by the controller, based on the source routing control information whether to repeat, by the radio communicator, the received source routing information to its member devices with the identifier of said communication device set to the source routing identifier or with the source routing identifier of the received source routing information.
