Abstract

A computing chip is provided that includes a digital-to-analog conversion module, an analog computing module, and an analog-to-digital conversion module. The digital-to-analog conversion module is configured to convert a mantissa part of an input floating-point number into an initial analog signal and to perform gain adjustment on the initial analog signal based on an exponent part of the input floating-point number to obtain an input analog signal. The analog computing module is configured to perform analog computing based on the input analog signal to obtain a computation result analog signal. The analog-to-digital conversion module is configured to convert the computation result analog signal into a result floating-point number. The computing apparatus converts the input floating-point number into the input analog signal and performs floating-point number computation in analog domain, thereby achieving higher computational efficiency than equivalent floating-point number computation in the digital domain.
