Abstract
A Doherty amplifier includes a carrier amplifier and a peak amplifier. A carrier-amplifier bias circuit supplies a bias to the carrier amplifier. A peak-amplifier bias circuit supplies a bias to the peak amplifier. A draw-off circuit draws off a portion of a bias current supplied from the peak-amplifier bias circuit to the peak amplifier. The draw-off circuit includes a cascode circuit in which a common-base transistor and a common-emitter transistor are cascode-connected. The collector of the common-base transistor is connected to the peak amplifier, and the base of the common-emitter transistor is connected to the input node of the carrier amplifier.
Claims9
A Doherty amplifier comprising:
- a carrier amplifier;
- a peak amplifier;
- a carrier-amplifier bias circuit configured to supply a carrier bias to the carrier amplifier;
- a peak-amplifier bias circuit configured to supply a peak bias to the peak amplifier;
- and
- a draw-off circuit configured to draw off a portion of a bias current of the peak bias,
- wherein the draw-off circuit comprises a cascode circuit in which a common-base transistor and a common-emitter transistor are cascode-connected,
- wherein a collector of the common-base transistor is connected to the peak amplifier, and
- wherein a base of the common-emitter transistor is connected to an input node of the carrier amplifier.
A Doherty amplifier comprising:
- a carrier amplifier;
- a peak amplifier;
- a carrier-amplifier bias circuit configured to supply a carrier bias to the carrier amplifier;
- a peak-amplifier bias circuit configured to supply a peak bias to the peak amplifier;
- and
- a draw-off circuit configured to draw off, from a bias current of the peak bias, a current that is dependent on an amplitude of an input current inputted to the carrier amplifier.
