A transportable rapidly deployable High-Frequency (HF) horizontal fan antenna system 100 adapted for NVIS or long skip HF propagation comprises a transportable HF dipole antenna assembly 300 including a sloped dipole pair of first fan antenna assembly 300A and second fan antenna assembly 300B which are radially arrayed at substantially 180 degrees from one another while fitting within a short horizontal distance (e.g., less than 52 feet) between the opposing bottom or distal ands of the fan assemblies. Surprisingly, the transportable HF dipole antenna system of the present invention provides good VSWR impedance match over a frequency range of 8 MHz to 30 MHz while providing a horizontal fan radiation pattern that varies in the range of 0 db to −5 dB for HF frequencies in the range of 3 MHz to 15 MHz, so expeditionary users can set up antenna system 100 quickly and are more likely to immediately receive signals from nearly any azimuth without undue dipole element setup or aiming trial and error.
A Transportable Rapidly Deployable High-Frequency (HF) Horizontal Fan Antenna System (e.g., 100), comprising:
A Transportable Rapidly Deployable High-Frequency (HF) and NVIS Horizontal Fan (ENV-2) Antenna System (e.g., with fan assembly 1300), comprising:
A method for deploying and erecting a substantially horizontal High-Frequency (HF) antenna system (e.g. 100), comprising:
330) less than 45 degrees from a second outer edge wire segment (e.g., 362) to define a wire mesh fan shape (e.g., 2300A).
