An exterior body that houses a charge/discharge body and extends along a first direction, wherein

• the exterior body includes a depressed section and a safety valve,
• the depressed section includes
• a first inner edge that is formed in a linear shape along the first direction on one side along a second direction intersecting the first direction,
• a second inner edge that is formed in a linear shape along the first direction on another side along the second direction and faces the first inner edge along the second direction,
• a third inner edge that is continuous with the first inner edge and the second inner edge and is formed in an arcuate shape, and
• a fourth inner edge that faces the third inner edge along the first direction, is continuous with the first inner edge and the second inner edge, and is formed in an arcuate shape,
• the safety valve includes
• a middle section formed in a rectangular shape at the depressed section of the exterior body,
• one end section that is continuous with the middle section at the depressed section and is formed in a semicircular shape on one end side of the middle section along the first direction, and
• another end section that is continuous with the middle section at the depressed section and is formed in a semicircular shape on another end side of the middle section along the first direction,
• the middle section, the one end section, and the other end section are thinner than the exterior body,
• the middle section includes a first groove that is adjacent to the first inner edge and is formed in a recessed manner, and a second groove that is adjacent to the second inner edge and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the one end section includes a third groove that is continuous with the first groove and the second groove, is adjacent to the third inner edge, and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the other end section includes a fourth groove that is continuous with the first groove and the second groove, is adjacent to the fourth inner edge, and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the first groove and the second groove are formed in linear shapes,
• the third groove and the fourth groove are formed in arcuate shapes, and
• a thickness of the first groove is thicker than a thickness of the second groove, the third groove, and the fourth groove.

A battery comprising:

• a charge/discharge body;
• an exterior body that houses the charge/discharge body and extends along a first direction;
• and
• a safety valve provided to the exterior body, wherein
• the exterior body includes a depressed section,
• the depressed section includes
• a first inner edge that is formed in a linear shape along the first direction on one side along a second direction intersecting the first direction,
• a second inner edge that is formed in a linear shape along the first direction on another side along the second direction and faces the first inner edge along the second direction,
• a third inner edge that is continuous with the first inner edge and the second inner edge and is formed in an arcuate shape, and
• a fourth inner edge that faces the third inner edge along the first direction, is continuous with the first inner edge and the second inner edge, and is formed in an arcuate shape,
• the safety valve includes
• a middle section formed in a rectangular shape at the depressed section of the exterior body,
• one end section that is continuous with the middle section at the depressed section and is formed in a semicircular shape on one end side of the middle section along the first direction, and
• another end section that is continuous with the middle section at the depressed section and is formed in a semicircular shape on another end side of the middle section along the first direction,
• the middle section, the one end section, and the other end section are thinner than the exterior body,
• the middle section includes a first groove that is adjacent to the first inner edge and is formed in a recessed manner, and a second groove that is adjacent to the second inner edge and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the one end section includes a third groove that is continuous with the first groove and the second groove, is adjacent to the third inner edge, and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the other end section includes a fourth groove that is continuous with the first groove and the second groove, is adjacent to the fourth inner edge, and is formed in a recessed manner,
• the first groove and the second groove are formed in linear shapes,
• the third groove and the fourth groove are formed in arcuate shapes, and
• a thickness of the first groove is thicker than a thickness of the second groove, the third groove, and the fourth groove.
