An integrated electrochemical system couples an electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reactor with an electrochemical fuel cell subsystem in a closed-loop configuration. The reactor electrochemically converts carbon dioxide and an aqueous electrolyte into a reduced carbon liquid fuel stored in a shared fuel storage tank. The fuel cell subsystem electrochemically converts the reduced carbon liquid fuel into electrical energy and water. Carbon-containing species from the fuel cell subsystem are returned to a shared electrolyte storage tank for reuse by the reactor, enabling internal carbon recirculation without carbon discharge. Following a startup phase, the fuel cell subsystem generates sufficient electrical energy to power the reactor and internal components while providing net surplus electrical energy for external use. A water recovery subsystem recovers water as a useful output. A supervisory control system enables selection among operating modes prioritizing energy production, water production, or energy storage. The system supports modular scalable deployment.
