Abstract
An electrochemical capacitor including: a first electrode containing a first active material; a second electrode containing a second active material; and an electrolytic solution, wherein the electrolytic solution contains an ionic liquid, and when a surface of the first electrode is quantitatively analyzed based on relative sensitivity factor by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), an atomic ratio RF of an element F derived from the ionic liquid to an element C is 10% or more.

An electrochemical capacitor comprising:
- a first electrode containing a first active material;
- a second electrode containing a second active material;
- and
- an electrolytic solution, wherein
- the electrolytic solution contains an ionic liquid, and
- when a surface of the first electrode is quantitatively analyzed based on relative sensitivity factor by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), an atomic ratio RF of an element F derived from the ionic liquid to an element C is 10% or more.
