Abstract
Method as well as resulting electrode and capacitor. The method includes in a surface of a metal film substrate, etching micro structures with a predetermined roughness, depositing in said microstructures a metal or compound layer, converting said metal or compounds layer into metal nanoparticles, constituting a catalyst, growing cross linked nanotubes in said micro structures at said metal nanoparticle acting as catalysts.
Claims8
A supercapacitor electrode comprising:
- in a surface of a aluminum film substrate comprising irregular microstructures having a depth in a range of 15-40 microns deep and 0.4 to 5 microns wide and being distributed throughout the surface;
- nickel or nickel compound layer positioned in said microstructure and constituted by nickel nanoparticles in the size range of 5~100 nm, constituting a catalyst;
- a layer constituted by cross linked carbon nanotubes from nanoparticles in the microstructures, having an area capacitance 550 mF/cm2 to 2009 mF/cm2 as the function of carbon mass loadings from 12.7 mg to 52.2 mg/cm2.
A double sided super capacitor electrode comprising an aluminum film substrate, wherein both sides comprises irregular microstructures having a depth in a range of 15-40 microns deep and 0.4 to 5 microns wide and being distributed throughout the surface;
- nickel or nickel compound layer positioned in said microstructure and constituted by nickel nanoparticles in the size range of 5~100 nm, constituting a catalyst;
- a layer constituted by cross linked carbon nanotubes from nanoparticles in the microstructures, having an area capacitance 550 mF/cm2 to 2009 mF/cm2 as the function of carbon mass loadings from 12.7 mg to 52.2 mg/cm2.
