Abstract
Provided is a magnetic tape including a data tape, a leader tape, and a splice tape, in which a thickness difference (Ttotal−Tdata) between a total thickness Ttotal of the leader tape and the splice tape and a thickness Tdata of the data tape is 30.0 μm or less, an arithmetic mean peak curvature Spc specified in ISO 25178 on a surface of the magnetic layer of the data tape is 0.30 (1/μm) or more and 0.70 (1/μm) or less, and a standard deviation σ of the Spc in a width direction of the surface of the magnetic layer is 0.15 (1/μm) or less.
Claims19
A magnetic tape comprising:
- a data tape;
- a leader tape joined to the data tape;
- and
- a splice tape provided at a joint portion between the data tape and the leader tape,
- wherein a thickness difference Ttotal−Tdata between a total thickness Ttotal of the leader tape and the splice tape and a thickness Tdata of the data tape is 30.0 μm or less,
- the data tape includes
- a non-magnetic support, and
- a magnetic layer containing a ferromagnetic powder,
- an arithmetic mean peak curvature Spc specified in ISO 25178 on a surface of the magnetic layer is 0.30 (1/μm) or more and 0.70 (1/μm) or less, and
- a standard deviation σ of the Spc in a width direction of the surface of the magnetic layer is 0.15 (1/μm) or less.
