Abstract
The disclosed invention is an intrusion detection system (1) for fencing, which can detect any cut to the fence even as an attempt is being made. It comprises of a fence barrier which is an electricity conducting, insulated, 1st sensing element (38) extending horizontally between fence posts (10, 11, 12), and a low voltage impedance detection system (FIG. 5). The low voltage impedance detection system comprises a set of fixed resistors (16) and an impedance monitoring assembly which is in connection with an intrusion alert unit. (FIG. 8). The preferred sensing element is a honeycomb mesh fabric (7).

An intrusion detection system (1) for fencing (20) having an electricity conducting 1st sensing element (38) extending horizontally between fence posts (10, 10′) and the sensing element connected to a low voltage impedance detection system, characterised by the sensing element being insulated (8) and the impedance detection system comprising a set of fixed resistors (16) and an impedance monitoring assembly (58) in connection with a remote intrusion alert unit (64).
