Methods for forming composite face images

A method for forming a composite face image with a processor executing computer executable instructions, the method comprising the steps of:

• receiving into a memory unit a first image file including a first face image;
• receiving into the memory unit a second image file including a second face image;
• identifying corresponding facial landmarks in the first face image and in second face image;
• creating a composite face image, creating a composite face image including:
• combining selected portions of the first face image and the second face image;
• aligning the selected portions of the first face image and the second face image based on the identified corresponding facial landmarks;
• adjusting the scale of one or more of the selected portions of the first face image and the selected portions of the second face image to a common scale;
• and
• blending boundaries of the selected portions of the first face image and the second face image to render the boundaries of the selected portions of the first face image and the second face image less visually apparent.
