System, method, and smart storage device for storage and management of items

A method (400) for storage and management of items, the method (400) comprising:

• receiving (402), at a computing device (200), from one or more first sensors (110) of a smart storage device (100), first signals indicative of at least one of the weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100), wherein the smart storage device (100) comprises:
• a base (102) comprising the one or more first sensors (110) to measure at least one of a weight, a quantity, a temperature, and an identity of items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100);
• and
• a storage compartment (104) to store the items (106);
• determining (404), at the computing device (200), the at least one of the weight, the quantity, the temperature, and the identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100), based on analysis of the first signals;
• displaying (406), by the computing device (200), at a display device (116) provided on the smart storage device (100), and communicably coupled to the computing device (200), the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100),
• wherein the display device (116) displays the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100) in any one or more languages as selected by a user of the smart storage device (100);
• and
• transmitting (408), by the computing device (200), the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device

A smart storage device (100) for storage and management of items, the smart storage device (100) comprising:

• a base (102) comprising one or more first sensors (110) to measure at least one of a weight, a quantity, a temperature, and an identity of items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100);
• and
• a storage compartment (104) to store the items (106);
• and
• a computing device (200) comprising a processor (202) communicably coupled to a memory (204), the memory (204) storing instructions, which when executed by the processor (202) causes the computing device (200) to:
• receive, from the one or more first sensors (110), first signals indicative of at least one of the weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100);
• determine the at least one of the weight, the quantity, the temperature, and the identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100), based on analysis of the first signals;
• and
• display the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100) on a display device (116) provided on the smart storage device (100), and communicably coupled to the computing device (200),
• wherein the display device (116) displays the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100) in any one or more languages as selected by a user of the smart storage device (100), and
• wherein the computing device (200) transmits the determined at least one of weight, quantity, temperature, and identity of the items (106) stored in the smart storage device (100) to a central database (250) communicably coupled to the computing device (200).
