Abstract
An illustrative method is performed by a container-aware storage system configured to provide persistent data storage to containerized applications running in a cluster and includes receiving a request including an identifier indicative of a container image of a containerized application to be run in the cluster of the container system; identifying, based on the identifier, a volume managed by the container-aware storage system, the volume including layers of the container image; and providing, in response to identifying the volume, volume data comprising one or more of the layers of the container image.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- performing by a container-aware storage system configured to provide persistent data storage to containerized applications running in a cluster of a container system:
- receiving a request comprising an identifier indicative of a container image of a containerized application to be run in the cluster of the container system;
- identifying, based on the identifier, a volume managed by the container-aware storage system, the volume comprising layers of the container image;
- and
- providing, in response to identifying the volume, volume data comprising one or more of the layers of the container image.
A computer program product embodied on a non-transitory computer-readable medium and comprising instructions that, when executed, cause a computing device to perform a process comprising:
- receiving a request comprising an identifier indicative of a container image of a containerized application to be run in a cluster of a container system;
- identifying, based on the identifier, a volume managed by a container-aware storage system configured to provide persistent data storage to containerized applications running in the cluster, the volume comprising layers of the container image;
- and
- providing, in response to identifying the volume, volume data comprising one or more of the layers of the container image.
A system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory storing instructions executable by the at least one processor to run a container-aware storage management system in a cluster of a container system, wherein the container-aware storage management system is configured to provide persistent data storage to containerized applications running in a cluster of a container system and to:
- receive a request comprising an identifier indicative of a container image of a containerized application to be run in the cluster;
- identify, based on the identifier, a volume managed by the container-aware storage, the volume comprising layers of the container image;
- and
- provide, in response to identifying the volume, volume data comprising one or more of the layers of the container image.
