Configuration recovery for a data management system

An apparatus, comprising:

• one or more memories storing processor-executable code;
• and one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and individually or collectively operable to execute the code to cause the apparatus to:
• obtain, by a first backup system, one or more snapshots of data of a host environment separate from the first backup system, the one or more snapshots obtained in accordance with one or more backup parameters indicated by configuration information for the first backup system, wherein the first backup system is associated with management of one or more backup procedures for the data of the host environment;
• receive, at the first backup system from a data management system, a request to store the configuration information associated with the first backup system to a storage location separate from the first backup system;
• and store, by the first backup system at the storage location in accordance with the request, the configuration information, wherein the configuration information indicates or more backup parameters, and wherein the configuration information, once applied to a second backup system, supports management, by the second backup system, of one or more subsequent backup procedures of the data of the host environment in accordance with the one or more backup parameters.
