Abstract
A method for centrally aligning a robot with an electronic device, including: transmitting, with at least one transmitter, a first signal; receiving, with a first receiver and a second receiver, the first signal; detecting, with a controller coupled to the first receiver and the second receiver, the robot is centrally aligned with the electronic device when the first receiver and the second receiver simultaneously receive the first signal, wherein a virtual line passing through a center of the robot and a center of the electronic device is aligned with a midpoint between the first receiver and the second receiver; and executing, with the robot, a particular movement type when the robot is aligned with the electronic device.
Claims20
A tangible, non-transitory, machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor of a robot, effectuate operations comprising:
- actuating, with the processor of the robot, the robot to move within an environment;
- maintaining, with the processor of the robot, an alignment of the robot with an electronic device by a series of movements, wherein the series of movements comprises a forward movement and a turning movement of the robot in response to a pair of receivers on the electronic device simultaneously receiving a signal, wherein:
- simultaneously receiving the signal with the pair of receivers indicates a central alignment between a directional line of the robot and a midpoint between the pair of receivers on the electronic device.
A system, comprising a robot and an electronic device, wherein the robot is configured to maintain a central alignment in relation to the electronic device,
- the electronic device comprising:
- a pair of receivers;
- a controller coupled to the pair of receivers, wherein the controller is responsive to simultaneously receiving the signal with the pair of receivers, indicating the central alignment between a directional line of a transmitter of the robot and a midpoint between the pair of receivers on the electronic device;
- the robot comprising:
- at least one transmitter;
- wherein the robot is configured to:
- actuate and maintain an alignment of the robot with the electronic device by a series of movements, wherein the series of movements comprises a forward movement and a turning movement of the robot in response to a pair of receivers simultaneously receiving a signal.
