Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming apparatus body; a developer container detachably attached to the body and including a securing unit secured to the body, a rotator relatively rotatable with respect to the securing unit, and a container-side electrode unit provided with the securing unit; an image forming device to form an image with a developer that is discharged from a developer discharge port of the securing unit by rotation of the rotator in a normal direction; a body-side electrode unit to contact the container-side electrode unit of the developer container attached to the body; and a position change structure to change a relative position between the container-side electrode unit and the body-side electrode unit of the developer container attached to the body. The position change structure changes the relative position with rotation of the rotator in a reverse direction opposite to the normal direction.
