Abstract
A composition for image recording, which is capable of recording an image having high color developability and high chroma, and is excellent in storage stability. The composition for image recording includes a pigment composition containing a yellow monoazo pigment and a compound represented by the general formula (1-1) or (2-1) different from the yellow monoazo pigment.

A composition for image recording comprising a pigment composition containing a yellow monoazo pigment and a compound represented by the following general formula (1-1) or (2-1) different from the yellow monoazo pigment:
- in the general formula (1-1), R1 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R3 or R4 represents a substituent represented by the following general formula (1-2):
- in the general formula (1-2), L represents a single bond, an ether bond (—O—), an ester bond (—O—C(═O)— or —C(═O)—O—), or a carbonyl group (—C(═O)—), and R11 to R15 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or a nitro group;
- and
- in the general formula (2-1), R1 to R5 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, provided that not more than one of R1, R3, and R4 represents a hydrogen atom, and R6 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R6 does not represent a hydrogen atom.
A method of producing a composition for image recording comprising a pigment composition containing a yellow monoazo pigment and a compound represented by the following general formula (1-1) or (2-1) different from the yellow monoazo pigment,
- the method comprising a step of simultaneously synthesizing the yellow monoazo pigment and the compound represented by the following general formula (1-1) or (2-1) by coupling a diazo component mixture (c1) containing a diazo component (a1) and a diazo component (b1) each obtained by converting an aniline derivative into a diazonium salt, and a coupler component (c2) that is an acetoacetanilide derivative to provide a crude product of the pigment composition:
- in the general formula (1-1), R1 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R3 or R4 represents a substituent represented by the following general formula (1-2):
- in the general formula (1-2), L represents a single bond, an ether bond (—O—), an ester bond (—O—C(═O)— or —C(═O)—O—), or a carbonyl group (—C(═O)—), and R11 to R15 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or a nitro group;
- and
- in the general formula (2-1), R1 to R5 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, provided that not more than one of R1, R3, and R4 represents a hydrogen atom, and R6 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R6 does not represent a hydrogen atom.
A method of producing a composition for image recording comprising a pigment composition containing a yellow monoazo pigment and a compound represented by the following general formula (1-1) or (2-1) different from the yellow monoazo pigment, the method comprising a step of subjecting a pretreatment mixture containing a crude product of the yellow monoazo pigment and the compound represented by the following general formula (1-1) or (2-1) to solvent salt milling to provide the pigment composition:
- in the general formula (1-1), R1 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R3 or R4 represents a substituent represented by the following general formula (1-2):
- in the general formula (1-2), L represents a single bond, an ether bond (—O—), an ester bond (—O—C(═O)— or —C(═O)—O—), or a carbonyl group (—C(═O)—), and R11 to R15 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or a nitro group;
- and
- in the general formula (2-1), R1 to R5 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, provided that not more than one of R1, R3, and R4 represents a hydrogen atom, and R6 to R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyloxy group, provided that R6 does not represent a hydrogen atom.
