Light-field microscopy including a) successively-acquiring image data sets of a sample using a light-field microscope at in each case different relative positions between a microscope objective of the light-field microscope and the sample, b) reconstructing a respective image stack of the sample from the various image data sets, c) in that the various relative positions in step a) are chosen on the basis of a dependence of a magnification of the light-field microscope on an axial coordinate which runs parallel to the optical axis, in such a way that adjacent image stacks overlap in part, and d) in that adjacent image stacks of the sample are combined to form a three-dimensional overall image of the sample on the basis of a dependence of a magnification of the light-field microscope on the axial coordinate.
