Abstract
An optical fiber splice tray for connecting a solid core optical fiber (SMF) with a hollow core optical fiber (HCF) is disclosed. The tray may include a body, a first holder, a second holder, and one or more fiber-routing features. The first and second holders may be disposed on the body and configured to hold and secure one or more optical components. The fiber-routing features may be disposed on the body and configured to hold and route one or more HCFs or one or more SMFs within the fiber tray.

A fiber tray comprising:
- a body;
- a first holder and a second holder disposed on the body and configured to hold one or more optical components;
- and
- one or more fiber-routing features disposed on the body and configured to hold and route one or more hollow-core optical fibers (HCFs) or one or more single-mode optical fibers (SMFs) within the fiber tray.
A fiber tray comprising:
- a body;
- an HCF-to-SMF coupler that couples a proximal end of an HCF pigtail to a distal end of an SMF pigtail;
- a first holder and a second holder disposed on the body, wherein the first holder holds and secures the HCF-to-SMF coupler, and wherein the second holder holds and secures an optical component;
- and
- one or more fiber-routing features disposed on the body and configured to hold and route one or more HCFs or one or more SMFs within the fiber tray.
A fiber tray comprising:
- a body;
- an HCF-to-SMF coupler that couples a proximal end of an HCF pigtail to a distal end of an SMF pigtail;
- a holder disposed on the body and configured to hold and secure the HCF-to-SMF coupler;
- a fiber-optic connector, wherein a proximal end of the SMF pigtail is terminated by the fiber-optic connector;
- a fiber adapter configured to receive the fiber-optic connector, wherein the fiber adapter is configured to connect the SMF pigtail with a connectorized end of an SMF;
- and
- one or more fiber-routing features disposed on the body and configured to hold and route the HCF pigtail and the SMF pigtail within the fiber tray.
