Abstract
The invention below described as: A Reverse Flame Vortex Combustion Chamber. The device is an improvement over conventional combustion chambers, as applied to jet engines or any other combustion chamber applications, achieving enhanced and improved combustion results. Fuel exhaust is reduced. A conventional combustion chamber consists of a pressurized flow of air in a contained environment into which a pressurized flow of gaseous fuel is injected and ignited producing thrust downstream. The Reverse Flame Vortex Combustion Chamber consists of a contained flow of pressurized fuel vapor into which air or oxygen is injected producing a different effect due to the nature of the flame front. The claim is enhanced performance of thrust and efficiency.
Claims4
Reversing the flame front produces a more controlled combustion effect, in that both the fuel and oxidizer can be better regulated.
The more and complete combustion produces less residual unburned particulate matter in the exhaust.
The jet of air blown into the chamber tangentially produces a vortex flame front which is more complete and efficient. This results in greater fuel economy due to the vortex flame front.
