A method of controlling a drive switching apparatus including

• a drive source,
• a driven unit configured to be driven by a driving force generated by the drive source, the driven unit including at least a first driven unit and a second driven unit configured to be driven in a selective manner based on drive switching,
• a transmission unit configured to transmit the driving force to the driven unit,
• a switching unit configured to perform drive switching from the first driven unit to the second driven unit in response to application of a first switching operation amount to the switching unit, and
• a control unit,
• the method comprising causing a control unit to correct the switching operation amount applied to the switching unit from the first switching operation amount to a second switching operation amount in a case where the drive switching from the first driven unit to the second driven unit in response to application of the first switching operation amount to the switching unit has failed.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method of controlling a drive switching apparatus including

• a drive source,
• a driven unit configured to be driven by a driving force generated by the drive source, the driven unit including at least a first driven unit and a second driven unit configured to be driven in a selective manner based on drive switching,
• a transmission unit configured to transmit the driving force to the driven unit,
• a switching unit configured to perform drive switching from the first driven unit to the second driven unit in response to application of a first switching operation amount to the switching unit, and
• a control unit,
• the method comprising causing a control unit to correct the switching operation amount applied to the switching unit from the first switching operation amount to a second switching operation amount in a case where the drive switching from the first driven unit to the second driven unit in response to application of the first switching operation amount to the switching unit has failed.
