The present invention relates to a valve set for conducting and conditioning a gaseous fuel, comprising: an inlet for receiving a pressurised gaseous fuel from a fuel storage tank, an outlet for forwarding the pressurised gaseous fuel to a fuel injector, a shut-off valve fluidically connected to the inlet for selectively blocking or allowing passage of the gaseous fuel from the inlet to the outlet, a gas metering valve fluidically connected in series with the shut-off valve for regulating a flow of the gaseous fuel that has flowed in via the inlet and directing it to the outlet, and a vent valve which, in an open state, lowers the pressure prevailing at the outlet to a predetermined level. In a de-energised state, the shut-off valve is closed and blocking a fluid line, and the vent valve is open.
