Abstract
The present disclosure provides a gripper for a casing running tool. The gripper includes an inner mandrel, which has a profile suitable for torque load transfer and a recessed portion having shoulders, and a split sleeve configured to be installed in the recessed portion of the inner mandrel. The split sleeve, which is configured to mate with the inner mandrel, includes an outer profile having a plurality of ramps. Each ramp of the outer profile of the split sleeve is configured to include a roller thereon such that each roller exhibits a radial force when the split sleeve is subjected to a downward force.
