Abstract
A shank sleeve assembly, a rock drilling machine, and a method is provided. The assembly is mountable around a shank adapter in a rock drilling machine and includes a shank bushing a having two-piece configuration of a first bushing component and a second bushing component connectable against each other. The assembly further includes a bearing bushing arrangeable to surround the two-piece shank bushing and allow rotation between the shank bushing and the bearing bushing.
Claims15
A shank sleeve assembly mountable around a shank adapter in a rock drilling machine, the sleeve assembly comprising:
- a shank bushing with an inner surface facing towards the shank adapter and including an inwardly protruding shoulder and an outer surface;
- the shank bushing having a two-piece configuration including a first bushing component and a second bushing component, both the first and second bushing component including coupling surfaces connectable in a radial direction against each other;
- and
- a bearing bushing arrangeable to surround the two-piece shank bushing, wherein the bearing bushing includes an inwardly facing shoulder at a first end part of the bearing bushing, and the shank bushing includes a first end facing towards drilling direction, and wherein a face surface at a first end of the shank bushing is mountable against the shoulder of the bearing bushing.
A method of providing a rock drilling machine with a rotating shank bushing, the method comprising:
- providing the shank bushing with a two-piece configuration comprising a first bushing component and a second bushing component;
- arranging the bushing components to surround a shank adapter of the rock drilling machine;
- surrounding the shank bushing with a separate bearing bushing;
- providing the bearing bushing with an inwardly facing shoulder at a first end part of the bearing bushing;
- providing the shank bushing with a first end facing towards drilling direction;
- and
- mounting a face surface at the first end of the shank bushing against the shoulder of the bearing bushing.
