Door latch device

A door latch device comprising:

• a fence block to be attached to an inside of a door, the fence block including an insertion groove into which a striker provided in a vehicle body is insertable;
• a fork pivotally supported by a fork shaft on a door outer side of the fence block, the fork being pivotable to a holding position where the striker is held and an opening position where the striker is releasable, the fork maintaining the door in a closed state with respect to the vehicle body by holding the striker;
• a claw pivotally supported adjacent to the fork on the door outer side of the fence block, the claw being pivotable to a locking position where the fork at the holding position is locked and a locking release position where the locking with the fork is released;
• an open lever that pivots in conjunction with an operation of a door handle attached to the door;
• a link movable between an unlock position where the link can transmit an operating force of the door handle to the claw via the open lever and a lock position where the link cannot transmit the operating force;
• and
• a lock plate for moving the link to the unlock position and the lock position, the lock plate including a first coupling part that couples the link, the lock plate being pivotally supported by a pivot shaft on a door inner side of the fence block, wherein
• the fence block is provided with an opening in the insertion groove, and
• the lock plate is provided with a lock operation part that is exposed to the door outer side of the fence block via the opening and is operable from the door outer side.
