Abstract

A door latch, particularly for a motor vehicle, includes a first part including a housing, a retention unit for engaging with a striker in a closed position and releasing the striker in an opened position, and an electrical actuation group to drive the retention unit to its opened position. The retention unit and the electrical actuation group are arranged at least partially within the housing. The door latch also includes a second removable part to be assembled to the first part. The second removable part also includes an electronic control circuit to control the retention unit and/or the electrical actuation group for opening or closing the door latch, such that the door latch becomes an electrical latch.
